Maritza Lopez-Campos is a licensed social worker with four years of experience providing case management and therapy services in Chicago’s southwest side. Originally from Iowa, I moved to Chicago in 2018 and earned her master’s in social work degree with a mental health concentration from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2021. Maritza was drawn to clinical social work after some time as a case manager when she noticed a huge lack of clinicians of color, especially of those who are bicultural and bilingual. Maritza uses a relational approach to co-create therapeutic relationships built on trust, empathy, and humor to emphasize her clients’ strengths. She’s passionate about adding to her skill set and recently completed an eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) training and began the first year of Somatic Experiencing training. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
